Smoke Decorated  and  Shadow Raku Pots

After making domestic and commemorative pottery for more than twenty years in my workshop at Washington Art Centre where I also had a heavy schedule of teaching pottery on evenings ,weekends and an annual week course for the serious hobby potters, I'm now retired from all that and work at a more leisurely pace in my home workshop.   I have stopped doing the domestic ware and  concentrated on making one off pots, in  the smoke decorated and naked raku method.

After  discovering the magic of clay at an evening class at the Newcastle College of Industrial Art and Design in the 60's I have been totally addicted to its material qualities that can stretch the creative mind to make a vast amount of beautiful objects.
